"Throughout our lives, we must deal with change. Some changes are welcome; some are not. There are changes in our lives which are sudden, such as the unexpected passing of a loved one, an unforeseen illness, the loss of a possession we treasure. But most of the changes take place subtly and slowly. Day by day, minute by minute, second by second we went from where we were to where we are now. The lives of all of us, of course, go through similar alterations and changes. The difference between the changes in my life and the changes in yours is only in the details. Time never stands still; it must steadily march on, and with the marching come the changes. This is our one and only chance at mortal life—here and now. The longer we live, the greater is our realization that it is brief. Opportunities come, and then they are gone. I believe that among the greatest lessons we are to learn in this short sojourn upon the earth are lessons that help us distinguish between what is important and what is not. I plead with you not to let those most important things pass you by as you plan for that illusive and nonexistent future when you will have time to do all that you want to do. Instead, find joy in the journey—now. Let us relish life as we live it, find joy in the journey, and share our love with friends and family. One day each of us will run out of tomorrows. " Thomas S. Monson

2013 is now coming to an end...

It's officailly the last few hours of 2013, its been a pretty good year for us and we are so blessed!

Here is a short recap of some of the things this year has brought to our family:

The most important event this year was welcoming sweet little Khailo to our family of course! what a blessing he is to us each day, we was such a SURPRISE...but we couldn't have asked for a bigger better surprise then him!

Kaylin:
Started 2nd grade! turned 7 years old, learned to read really well, is amazing at math. Loves video games. got brave and learned how to ride his bike. Got to go to his first ever "work day with daddy" just him and dad, he loved it! loves science and experiments and building "creating" things. is such a sweet heart. Has loved his brothers more then ever. lost 3 teeth this year. and is growing up WAY TOO FAST!

Kiptin:
Started pre-school. Turned 4 years old. Loves dirt bikes SO MUCH! Has taken the "big brother" role so seriously, and adores khailo. he has grown so much this last year, he is no longer our little baby boy but is now our big boy! he loves to dance, we turn on music and he just jams out!

Khailo:
Joined our family! learned a ton in the last month, rolling, crawling, and pulling him self up on everything. LOVES his mommy...and everyone else but mostly mommy...huge huge huge MAMA'S boy for sure! got 3 teeth and is in the 90th % for height...huge boy!

Nick & I:
he turned 29 and I 28...eek! Celebrated our biggest Anniversary 10...TEN YEARS!!! wanted to get away for a cruse but decided last minute that khailo was just to small (almost 4 months) and being away that long was just not right for us at the time...but we are taking that cruise this year in a few months!
Sold our first home we bought together when we got married, sad but love where we are in life now! HAVE 3 KIDS. Nick looks HOT, always has but right now SMOKIN would be the word i use for him, he has gotten into REALLY good shape and helps me want to follow suit...we love being healthy and I need to get back on the wagon with that, i let mine slip and cant wait to start back up!!
We ran our first ever half marathon, what a great bucket list check off...it was so gratifying to accomplish that and run across the finish line with my best friend...i hope to run it again this year with him again!!
Nick helped build an AMAZING Children's Museum. We bought a new car..strange for us to own a CAR cause we have always had big trucks and SUV's...but we wanted to get good gas mileage and save some money and after all it is the last time we can own a car cause one more baby and we wont fit anymore, so we gave it a go and we love it!
I think the biggest thing is that we made it through another year full of mostly up's but with a few down's...we made it through and are so happy right now, our life is full and crazy but IT'S OUR LIFE, we love it and we make the most of it, our kids make us so happy and we have had fun just being in love!!

I hope this New Year brings us more happiness and joy and love! we are very blessed and so lucky for what we have and couldn't ask for more. We hope to be able to be debt free this year or close to it and we have many more things instore for us and cant wait til they arrive!

Thank you 2013 for being great to us and 2014 we hope its even better...cant wait for all our goals and dreams to happen!

Merry Christmas!!!

What a GREAT Christmas we had here at out house!!
This year has been the most fun of all the years since we have had kids. The boys have just been so much fun!
When we first got Rocket the elf at our house I wasnt sure how it was going to play out, but I am SO SO HAPPY we got him..it has been so full of laughing and smiling (except a few times lol) and so much magic...watching the boy's face light up each morning as they jump out of bed and run around the house looking for Rocket has been the most fun!
This year they boy has a rather short list for santa...it was strange but I guess they just knew exactly what they wanted the most (which was nice and easy for us). when kaylin first wrote his list and brought it to us we had to laugh cause he wrote this for his list..."I want: zoomer the dog, skylander swapforce, disney infinity, micro mini racers, and ipad and an iphone". hahaha seriously our 7 year old wants an "ipad" and an "iphone"!!!!
Kiptin's list was short and sweet as well..."motorcycles, zoomer, monster trucks, and a real motorcycle and helmet"!

Christmas Eve we went to "coo coo clock" grandmas house, thats what kaylin call nicks grandmas house cause she use to have these fun coo coo clocks up in her house and kaylins loved them!
we got home so late, like 11 pm, the boys were shot and the so were we! Santa came and Nick and I made it to bed about 2:30am and then about 4 am i would say i herd some paper crinkling out by the tree and thought it was either kaylin sneaking into his presents or the cat...neither was right. it was kiptin, sitting on the floor dumping out his stocking, I was walking over to him telling him we needed to wait for everyone to wake up and that he needed to go back to bed, when all the sudden I noticed he wasnt wearing any pants...or underwear. i said "why are you naked" and then he stood up and i said "oh thats why" so off to the shower i took him, he was not happy about having to take a shower while he was half asleep but it had to be done. I got him dressed and made a bed for him on my floor and got him back to sleep and then a few hours later kaylin came running in saying "santa came santa came, come see" I made him lay by me in bed for about an hour until khailo woke up and then we all headed out to see what santa had brought!
The rest of the day was relaxing and playing with all the new toys!
here are some fun pictures from our 2013 Christmas!

Although dad was REALLY excited about his new gift (the gopro) we bought them early at best buy on black friday, we stood in line for a few hours and were the first set of ppl to get in the store..it was awesome to be at the front this year! anyways I bought dad his camera and tv and when we got home he of course wanted to get his tv out right away so I let him but I told him he should wrap up his camera since he had two things so that he would have one to open on Christmas day. A bout a week went by and he still didnt wrap up his camera (something i should have just done) he got it out of his box and wanted to try it out..i said "no you need to wrap it up" and he of course didnt listen, he went out and mounted it to one of his air planes and took it for a spin...and LOST IT...yes i said LOST IT...his VERY expensive camera somehow dropped off his plane while it was in flight and landed in the worse place possible for being able to find it..in the ditch/field by our house that is FILLED with bushes and weeds and sage brush...oh and SNOW, lots of SNOW. We went out looking for it right away for about 3 hours...no luck. we went out the next day for 9...yes NINE hours straight...no luck..we decided the snow would have to melt a lot for us to find it so we waited a few weeks til the snow melted quit a bit...no luck again. This camera is TINY super tiny...only about 3x3 inches. We still are going to go searching but there is still quit a bit of snow. I cant even believe this happened. I really hope we can find it!

Our Christmas Jar, year 2...

This year we saved our coins and went out to the bank to count how much we had saved with just saving our loose change!
This year we saved $50 and we decided to buy some toys for 2 little boys. A little 2 year old and a little 3 year old.
Kiptin had fun buying for the 3 year old, he said "i know the perfect presents for him" and picked out motorcycles and blocks!
For the 2 year old we bought blocks as well and some monster trucks...kaylin loved walking through the isles and picking out toys for these two little boys.
Our ward did an angel tree for a few families that have fallen on some really hard times and we thought that would be the perfect place for our "Christmas Jar" money to go!
I LOVE that we do this each year, i hope this next year will be even better and we can do more! What a fun family tradition this has become for us and our little ones!

Happy 4th Birthday to our sweet boy Kiptin!....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUDDY!!!

Wow, 4 years have come and gone since we were so blessed to have you come into our family!
You are such a ham most of the time, always coming up with the funniest things to say to us.  You were SO excited for this day to come, you asked us everyday for the last 3 weeks if it was your birthday yet!  You asked for a "Motorcycle" birthday party (not so easy to find stuff for that) you picked out your cake just how you wanted it and all the decorations for you party...everything was just how kippy asked...made me smile!  We loved seeing your face light up today, ALL DAY!

I put blown up balloons in your room last night after you went to sleep, you woke up at about 7 am and the first thing daddy and I heard was "YAY"...then you ran out to the kitchen and found our elf "rocket" sitting on the counter holding your "happy birthday" balloons, along with your favorite donuts and chocolate milk for your birthday breakfast!!

You hung out with mommy all day helping get ready for you party.  We took khai to the doctor for his check up and we told the doctor it was your birthday today, he left and brought you back a really cool wooden car for you bday....you were so happy!

We had a low key party with only a few friends, (im sure those wont last long so im savoring them!)  we invited your cute little friend Colin Kritzer and a few others..madden and hadley and logan!  cousin brayden also came!  Grandma and Papa Haslem came and Uncle landon and aunt Chelsea and baby cyrus!

You got some pretty AWESOME presents, a remote control truck (from G&G haslem), a remote control missile shooter (from us and your brothers), ninja turtle pack and bubbles, and some motorcycles of course!!

We are so so blessed to have you in our lives kiptin, we love you more then you will ever ever know. You make us so happy!! thank you for letting us be your parents!
Happy 4th Birthday to our sweet little boy!!

Here are some fun pictures of your day and your party!

Happy 9 months old to my little man

I'm so excited for the stage you are in now! you are so much fun, i love that you laugh and giggle. I love that you say "mama". I love that you crawl everywhere...when i leave the room you chase me down like a blood hound!
I love that you sleep so good. I love all your chubby rolls so much. I love your sweet smile and how it lights up the room. I just plain out love you to pieces!!!

We had your 9 month check up and once again you measure HUGE! 90% for height!!! by FAR taller then your brothers....you are one of the tallest kids your age that they have in the office! you weight 20 lbs (almost 21!). you will tower us all im sure of it!
You wear size 3 diapers still and 18 month clothes, only for the fact that you are so tall and dont fit length wise in 12 month clothes!
You LOVE your bath now, you cry to get out instead of getting in now!
You are still a mama's boy...big time!
You started pulling your self up now just within the last few days...i found you standing in your crib saying "mamamamama" and then i watched you pull your self up by the couch!
You LOVE potato soup that i make!
You army crawled for a month and now you figured out hands and knees and you are on the move all the time!
You are doing so well with our Christmas tree, you have not tried to pull it over yet but you do take off some of the ornaments once in a while!

The other day, daddy was changing you on your table and you were saying "mama" and daddy said to you "daddy's the best uh khai" and then he said "say dada's the best khai"....you stopped talking and looked right at daddy and shook your head "NO"...we died laughing it was way to funny....You know who is the best!!!

What a fun happy boy you are and we couldnt ask or want any one other then you...you make us so happy!
We Love you sweet boy!

its been the best 14 years, all the good AND bad...he makes me happy, feels my heart with love and happiness and loves me unconditionally!!
Iam so happy to have my best friend with me always and forever!

Day 2 with Rocket our now mischief elf....

END OF DAY 2
Rocket decided he was sick of just sitting on a shelf watching over the boys so last night he had a little fun and got into some mischief....on kiptins face!!
poor kiptin was not thrilled about this...he woke up to us laughing...me (mom) about to pee my pants because i was the only one who knew about this little art work....dad walked in and saw it and busted up laughing and kaylin felt a little bad for kiptin and only smiled.
(mom and dad are so mean)

Kaylin felt bad and wrote Rocket a note and asked him to not draw on them any more!
lets see what day 3 brings to us!

Sweet Hearted Kaylin....

A few days ago kiptin was talking about his birthday coming up and asking how many days there were left until his big day. Kaylin jumped right in and told kipin that he would make him a birthday chain so he could count down the days til his birthday...kaylin got out all the supplies by him self and sat down by him self and built kiptin a birthday chain count down!
Your are always thinking of other kaylin, we love you so much and you are the sweetest little boy we know!! thank you for being such an awesome big brother!!

Our Elf on the Shelf.....

Yesterday December 5th our cute little elf Finally arrived to our house. The boys had been hearing all the fun stories of their friends elf's and really wanted one of their own too.
Kaylin got home from school and the package was sitting on the door step all wrapped up from Santa...he ran in and showed me and said it was from Santa to him and kiptin and if he could please open it. Their faces lit up and he was so excited that he finally got his own elf delivered to his door!

(The elf on the shelf is a magical elf that Santa sends to our house so he can help Santa out with watching over the kids and reporting back to him each night about how the kids acted towards others that day!)

We opened the box and read the book together and the boys decided on a name "Rocket"!

Kaylin told me that in his class they all wrote a letter to Santa and kaylin had wrote and asked if he could please have an elf of his own sent to our house (i didn't know he had done this) when he told me it melted my heart knowing he wanted him so bad!!

Each night Rocket uses his magic to fly back to the north pole to report back to Santa. when he returns home he lands somewhere new and we are not allowed to touch him because it might take away all his magic.  The boys woke up before us and were already looking around the house for him, they looked high and low and said they couldn't find him anywhere. He is a tricky elf they said...finally they spotted him high up on the ceiling fan watching down on them!!!

Each day i will try to show what our new little family member is doing around our house this Christmas season.  we are so excited to have this new little tradition in our house...seeing the boys so excited and full of Christmas Magic is amazing. I love this time of year!

Here are pictures from our little Rocket!

good advice!

Be very careful if you make a woman cry, because God counts her tears. The woman came out of a man's rib, not from his feet to be walked on, not from his head to be superior, but from his side to be equal! Under the arm to be protected, & next to the heart to be loved.
