"Throughout our lives, we must deal with change. Some changes are welcome; some are not. There are changes in our lives which are sudden, such as the unexpected passing of a loved one, an unforeseen illness, the loss of a possession we treasure. But most of the changes take place subtly and slowly. Day by day, minute by minute, second by second we went from where we were to where we are now. The lives of all of us, of course, go through similar alterations and changes. The difference between the changes in my life and the changes in yours is only in the details. Time never stands still; it must steadily march on, and with the marching come the changes. This is our one and only chance at mortal life—here and now. The longer we live, the greater is our realization that it is brief. Opportunities come, and then they are gone. I believe that among the greatest lessons we are to learn in this short sojourn upon the earth are lessons that help us distinguish between what is important and what is not. I plead with you not to let those most important things pass you by as you plan for that illusive and nonexistent future when you will have time to do all that you want to do. Instead, find joy in the journey—now. Let us relish life as we live it, find joy in the journey, and share our love with friends and family. One day each of us will run out of tomorrows. " Thomas S. Monson

Spartan trifecta...WE DID IT!

We finally made it..we completed our spartan trifecta medal!

We just ran 14 miles in the Seattle spartan Beast OCR!
It was our 3rd and final peice to our medal!

Our first race was a spartan sprint in mesquite nevada..4 miles 20+ obstacles. We finished that one in 1:28 minutes.

Our second race was the Huntsville Spartan Super, 8.6 miles 30 obstacles... we finished this one in 3:30 minutes... it was a spartan national championship course and it was HARD. Straight up the ski slopes...so so hard.

Our final piece was the Seattle Washington Spartan Beast course...so so INCREDIBLY beautiful course. It was 14 miles, 33 obstacles and took us 4:35 to finish it. My foot was pretty hurt on this one so we were a little slow but all that matters is we finished! It. Was. Hard.

I'm going to let my foot heal for the rest of the year and then we will be back at it next year... I hope to accomplish  2 trifecta's in the same year,  next year!

Karbons first day of preschool

Today was your very first day of school.... preschool that is!
8.26.19
Today was also my very last first day to drop one of my little guys off at the being of his little school career!

I'm so sad that the time with you just being at home with me is creeping to an end. How are you already 4, and old enough to start preschool. I have soaked in the days with you and my heart will shatter when you head off to all day school. So for the next two years I'm soaking you in and enjoying each day i have you all to myself!

You were so excited to finally have your day to be like the big boys, put on your new clothes and new shoes and get your little backpack then head off to your class room!

I'm so proud of you. You are so amazing. And you will do amazing things in this life!
Keep being the kind sweet boy through your life and you will be so blessed.

First day of school 2019/2020

Today started a new school year!
Our first born boy is an 8th grader...last year at middle school...I can't believe it. I mean I seriously can NOT believe he is this old already!!

Kiptin boy started 4th grade and got the teacher he wanted, a guy who loves the outdoors just like kippy...  the sign outside his class room made his whole day!

Khailo started 1st grade, all day school!
He said he was so tired and hates it because it takes all day. Lol.

My karbon boy will start preschool in a few weeks.  Why is he 4 already?
I do hate it, i want him to stay my tiny baby FOREVER!

I will be entering a new phase in life myself....after 13 years of always having kids at home, when karbon heads off to his 2.5 hours of school I'll have no kids for those 2.5 hours?!?! Its so crazy, yet soooo welcoming... although I absolutely will miss having a constant little one with me... I am happy to finally have some free time to take care of myself so I can be the best mom and wife for this amazing little family of mine!

I love these boys with every fiber in my body, they're my heart and soul❤❤

Happy 16th Anniversary to us

Today its been 16 years of marriage!
There have been many times I have thought we wouldn't make it. But love prevails and keeps trying...over and over without end.
We made a promise to stay together and by gosh, so far so good!!

It's been 16 years of hard life lessons but also some pretty dang good lessons as well!

Here are a few things that have happened in this 16 years of marriage so far:
*owned 2 houses
*lived in 2 states
*moved 3 times
*owned 15 vehicles
*welcomed 4 sweet boys
*a temple mission
*owned a business or a few
*learned new traits
*taught lots of kids in church callings
*went through a miss carriage
*took up road biking and did some 50+ mile races
*started running startan OCR races, about to finish our trifecta medal
*got fit and healthy
*took on a bunch of kid sports and activities
*fell in love a few more times together!

Those are just a few off the top of my head... I'm sure the list is much longer lol!

Nick turns 35...WHAT?!?!?

Mid thirties. Wow.
I've know him since he was 15... and now he hit 35... 20 years we have been through together!

How can we be in our 30's? Where did all the years go.  Mostly raising kids I guess lol!
I love that we can enjoy crazy things together... the past year we have done some fun new things together and I love it.

I love that we have eachother but let's be real... I really DONT wanna grow old, it terrifies me. It haunts me. It's always on my mind. It's not a happy thought.

I want us to stay young and beautiful ❤!

But if we have to grow old, I am thankful to go through it with you!

Happy 35
And let's enjoy the last 5 years before we are literally in the "old" category, lol!

Khailo's happenings

I've been meaning to write a few things but busy is an understatement at the moment.

So first, khailo was playing baseball with kip who was trying to show him how to bat..well khai didn't back up enough and kip didn't notice...
SMACKED khai right in the face by his eye...stitches and black shiner!

Khailo also started playing machine pitch baseball, he was struggling with knowing when to swing at the ball...he's played 3 games with no luck and this mommy heart was feeling so dang bad for him....well last night at his game, he smacked the freaking ball!!!!!!!!!!!!
He didn't even know what to do when he hit, I just started screaming "run khai run"....sooo dang cute!

Also this week khailo learned how to finally ride his bike...he was so dang happy/proud of himself!!!

Next up, khailo has this nickname... we call him gus gus (it's the mouse on Cinderella who likes to eat)
He is always wanting a snack or a meal.... two things about this..

1. We were talking to him about the resurrection and what happens and he said "but can i still be a gus gus when that happens"

2. This morning I needed to go to the store, we were pretty much out of everything, khailo comes into my room and says "mom I'm hungry" I told him to go get some food... he then says "there's no more food for gus" lol!!

2nd foot surgery

I've just finished up my 2nd foot surgery, hopefully this one will be the magic one and I can be all done with this mess of a foot.

I wanted to just write down a funny moment that happened while we were getting ready to leave.

We had karbon with us and I had just woke up from surgery and I had a heater blowing in my blankets to get me warm.  When it was time for me to get dressed to be discharged...karbon touched my belly and said "why you's skin so hot"
I told him it was because I had a heater in my blanket. He then got his scrunchie nose and looked at me funny and said "you had Hooters in there"!!!
Lol lol lol lol lol lol
Nick and I laughed for a good 2 minutes!

Love these little moments where kids day funny things. I already miss it with the other boys and soon this little one will grow out of it as well, boo.

Happy 6th birthday to our khailo

This is the birthday that's hard for me... the "two hand" birthday.  For the rest of our lives you will never be able to only count your age on one hand, queue "mom tears" ....

Mom turns 34... FIRST SPARTAN RACE

Behind yet again, but this is a must post!

This girl turned 34.  Its seems like just a number but that number brings some big feeling with it.  I dont feel like I'm in my 30's. I dont want to be in my 30's. But life doesnt stop to ask what you want, it just keeps on moving with or without you.  So I've made it a point to stay healthy and active, so that as our sweet boys grow, dad and I can keep up!
This year my birthday was so great! I felt a little bad for leaving the boys home with grandpa & grandma haslem while dad whisked me away for an over night getaway to st. George... but we were headed to do something I've wanted to start doing for a few years but missed the chances that came around.... run a SPARTAN race.... I've wanted one of those medals around my neck for some time now... I've gotten marathon running medals, and bike race medals...but its the spartan medal that I've always wanted to feel, hold, touch and wear knowing I made it, I accomplished a big bucket list goal.... to know that I AM fit enough and strong enough to achieve that and I did it!!!!!

Not without my soul mate though...he does crazy things with me all the time..never complain when I tell him hes doimg it with me..just goes along with it... even when he wants to take off and do the very best he can, he doesnt, he stays right with me and makes sure that im doing the very best I can.  He melts my heart, to know someone can love you so much even when you are such a brat at times (more times then not I'm sure)... he stays by my side and always trys to make me happy!

Finishing the spartan sprint was ridiculously fun and I'm hooked for life.  We got our first pieces of our trifecta medal, which means we need to complete two more races this year, each one being longer and harder then the last...when I saw that first piece of my ultimate medal, I knew I had to complete the next two...and we are doing just that..I have a goal to complete my trifecta and by gosh..I will!!

The spartan sprint is a 4 mile race with about 20 + obstacles. ✔

Now we need to complete the spartan super: 8+ miles, 30+ obstacles

And the spartan beast is 12+ miles and 40+ obstacles

I'm soooo excited to complete that medal this year! I hope we get too!

Later when we got home, the boys and dad made me my annual red velvet cake..I love that they all make me this every year!

Although I dont want to get old, I do love the changes I get to witness... I do love watching myself grow and complete goals... I do love watching my sweet boys grow up, as hard as that also is...its something that I cant make time stand still so I need to make sure I'm embracing everyday/moment with these little boys...because they are only little, for a little while!

Happy NEW YEAR 2019

Makes my life so sad that another year is gone.  One more year that my boy are older, one more year that I'm older 😫😭.
I wish I could freeze time.. i love the stage my littles are in and want them to stop growing...but I also know its inevitable and that's the way life is designed.
2018 had some major ruff times, they were hard for me. I'm hoping 2019 will be our jumping point and life can get better for us financially so we can enjoy this worlds wonders with our boys. I feel like the worst parent that way, we never get to plan fun vacations for them and I feel like a failure for that. Hoping this year will be better for them!
Last night nick and I made it to midnight finally...lol... we usually fall asleep by 1030.... kaylin ran off with his friends to party..so that just left us and the 3 others...we played some games, Drank some sparkly juice and then they waited for the midnight fireworks!

I'm praying that this year will finally be the year we can breathe a little... I'm hoping this year we will be better to teach our boys about our beautiful gospel and be walk with christ and that we will teach them to keep him close and he will always guide them and care for them with all his love!

Heres to 2019 and a new year to make new memories together with these boys and husband I love so much!

good advice!

Be very careful if you make a woman cry, because God counts her tears. The woman came out of a man's rib, not from his feet to be walked on, not from his head to be superior, but from his side to be equal! Under the arm to be protected, & next to the heart to be loved.
