"Throughout our lives, we must deal with change. Some changes are welcome; some are not. There are changes in our lives which are sudden, such as the unexpected passing of a loved one, an unforeseen illness, the loss of a possession we treasure. But most of the changes take place subtly and slowly. Day by day, minute by minute, second by second we went from where we were to where we are now. The lives of all of us, of course, go through similar alterations and changes. The difference between the changes in my life and the changes in yours is only in the details. Time never stands still; it must steadily march on, and with the marching come the changes. This is our one and only chance at mortal life—here and now. The longer we live, the greater is our realization that it is brief. Opportunities come, and then they are gone. I believe that among the greatest lessons we are to learn in this short sojourn upon the earth are lessons that help us distinguish between what is important and what is not. I plead with you not to let those most important things pass you by as you plan for that illusive and nonexistent future when you will have time to do all that you want to do. Instead, find joy in the journey—now. Let us relish life as we live it, find joy in the journey, and share our love with friends and family. One day each of us will run out of tomorrows. " Thomas S. Monson

HaPpY "2" BiRtHdAy KIPTIN!...

2 YEARS ago a beautiful little boy joined our family, oh how I didnt know at that moment how much of a joy he would be and how much love he would give us! At 2 he is already MR independent. Kiptin loves his brother so much, we tell him to say "kaylin" and he just says "bruder" so cute!
Kiptin LOVES motorcycles, monster trucks, and dirt! he would rather watch a motorcross race then cartoons!
he is such a love bug, still has to have mom tuck him in at night and gives me kisses through the bed rails, i love that!
He has a ton of me in him, not always a good thing, when he wants something he wont stop for nothing until he gets it.
we love you kiptin so much, happy 2nd birthday baby boy!

Good bye to a true best friend....

Sampson left us on Monday November 28th 2011. It has been a pretty ruff past 3 days so far for nick and I, we cant believe that he is gone and is not coming back. we miss his happy face when we great him and his always having to lean on us to say hi. He was THEE best dog we have ever had in either of our lifetimes, pretty perfect in every way, always minded and was so obedient (maybe not to me but ALWAYS to nick) we never had to put him on leash for walks in the mountains cause he would never run off. He loved walks and fetch, car rides (even though he would never jump into the truck he would only jump up and put his front paws on the tailgate and then nick would have to life the rest of him into the truck :)
He LOVED kaylin right from the start, as soon as we brought him home from the hospital sam had to know all about him and always would lay right by him, any noise he made sam had to check on him! they were the best of friends.
He hated the water, when he was just little he fell head first into a hole filled with water and couldn't get out, luckily our friend turned and saw him just in time and pulled him out before it was too late.
He knew nick was his best friend and loved him so much they had a true bond.
His most favorite thing was running free up in the mountains and hill sides.
I still cant picture him being gone, it doesn't seem real, it was so unexpected, one day he was fine and then next gone. It really shows that you NEVER know when its someones time to go or when they wont be there anymore, we wish so bad that we could have given him one last favorite treat or one last walk in the mountains, but we had no idea this was going to happen and didnt see it coming, it hurts a lot that we weren't there for him to comfort him when he needed us in the end, it hurts to know he was alone, it hurts a lot to not know why, we can only hope he just went to sleep and didnt wake up and wasnt suffering. WE LOVE HIM SO MUCH. He was nick and I first baby and will FOREVER be in our hearts and minds.

RIP SAMPSON, LOVE ALL OF US!

Halloween!

This year was so much fun! we just got to hang out with our kidos and watch their cute faces light up! It was another quiet Halloween with just being us and grandpa and grandma haslem, no cousins to hang out with this year.
Sunday night after dinner we did our pumpkin carving, this year we had home grown pumpkins from grandmas & grandpas garden, kaylin was excited he got to watch his pumpkin grow all summer long and then he got to carve it!

Kaylin was so funny this year, most every year i plan what he is going to be but now that he knows that he gets to dress up how ever he wants, he took in upon him self and said he is going to be what he wants to be this year!
For the hole month he said he wanted to be a ninja and have ninja swords, so we bought him the swords backpack and he loved them....until the day before Halloween when i got out the costume box to find kiptins and there he saw the puppy costume and he said he changed his mind and that he was now going to be a puppy!
So he was a happy pup...then on Halloween day he told me that he wanted me to dress up too and he picked out everything i was to wear! He said he dressed me up as Angelina Ballerina! He saw that i had two sets of angel wings and he said he really wanted to wear the white ones, i told him that boys dont wear wings and that they did not go with his outfit. He said "umm mom dogs wear wings...i can be "all dogs go to heaven" and wear the angel wings".
So i could argue with that right??
I just wanted him to be happy and get to be whatever it was he wanted to be....so "all dogs go to heaven puppy" is what he was!!! it was pretty cute!

For kiptin I couldn't decide what he should be, last year he was a skunk and it is THEEE cutest skunk costume i have ever seen...kaylin wore it when he was just a year old on his 2nd Halloween. We also had the tiger outfit and kiptin liked that one too, he wore them both...the tiger for most of the day cause he wouldn't take it off and then the skunk for the night since its a little warmer....i had to have him wear it one last time its just too cute!

They got lots and lots of candy. After the first 2 houses kiptin was getting the idea that if you go to the door they give you candy, he started to get so excited about running up to the doors, at about the 3 house he got his candy and held it up and showed us and yelled some cute "kiptin words" which sounded like "look more" he was so dang excited, it was so much fun watching him be excited this year!

HAPPY 6TH Halloween to kaylin boy &
HAPPY 2ND Halloween to kippers!

My World....

These two are my EVERYTHING. Love is what I see when I look at them. I have been working the past 3 months and letting daddy have a turn to stay home and be mr. mom (he has never had the chance to spend all day everyday with his boys ever and I wanted him to have that chance at least one while they are still so little) and I didn't know how much I missed their laughing and cuddling and yes some times even their fighting, until I got to have a few days off and be back home to my comfort zone...I think I will have to admit that dishes, dusting, deep cleaning and on some days even laundry are the chores I will take over being gone and away from my sweet boys all day everyday! Home is the place for me, and just being MOMMY is what I love the very most!!

Fall is in the air...

Goodbye to summer and hello fall! The mountains are changing so fast this year, we have already had the first snow fall on them. We decided to take a family hike up to the Cedar lookout point and we walked down the trail a little ways until it got to slippery and muddy for the kids, nick found out the hard way and slipped right to his back while he was holding kiptin.
The boys loved it of course, anything that has to do with outdoors is right up their alley cold or not! Kiptin loved touching the snow and kaylin found some cool hideouts under some trees and brush!
We got some pretty pictures by some trees that are changing colors...I love fall its so pretty and smells so fresh out!

Happy 5th Birthday Kaylin...

Happy birthday to my beautiful little boy, i cant believe you are 5!
Kaylin you are such an amazing son, we look at you and talk about how blessed we are to have you. We could never write down the way we feel about you, it just could never be told in words, its so much stronger then words! YOU ARE JUST SO AMAZING! you have such a long way this past year and are not a baby anymore, as much as i want you to be i just have to realize you are a young boy now and can do things on your own even though i still think i have to do everything for you cause thats just what i have always done, but you have proved me wrong the past little bit and shown me i need to let you go a little more on your own now! You will ALWAYS be my little baby boy no matter how old you are though just remember that!

This year we planned just a little family party for you and you chose a big present...a new polaris predator 50cc fourwheeler, and you have been out on that everyday showing us how good of a rider you are becoming, you are even a little bit of a show off when other people are around! but we love it and love watching you enjoy it and have so much fun!
When we went to buy your wheeler up north we happend to find a way better deal on a newer model but there was only one problem..it was pink. We asked you if it would be ok if we bought it and would change the color of the plastics for you and you were not having it...pink just was not what you wanted...BUT dad said what if we stay in a hotel for the night then could we buy the pink one???....you smiled and yelled YES! so we bought the pink one and ordered some new plastics and you have been so happy ever since!

We just want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY again kaylin and tell you we love you with all and more of our hearts and we couldnt have asked for a better kid then you!!!

love you FOREVER!

Kiptin 18 months....

18 short months have come and gone so fast. Kiptin, where oh where do i start??? there is so much about him, he is just like his big brother kaylin and yet so very very different. He has a mind of his own and when he wants something...he gets it, one way or another good or bad :)
Kiptin has a smile that makes you have to smile no matter what you are feeling, its that good! He is so silly almost all day he is trying to do things to make someone laugh, and it works, he keeps us laughing! He loves playing games like peek-a-boo, hide and seek, chase him around the house, and "where's kiptin" he hides behind his hands and thinks we cant see him until he moves them! His vocabulary had exploded this past month here are some things he can say:
mommy
mom
mama
dada
baba
puppy (just a couple days ago he started saying it since we have new puppies in our house)

keke (kaylin)
out
on
off
up
down
juice
owee
jaida
sam
grandma
water
shoes

there are some of the things he can say (im sure im missing a lot). He understand almost every single thing we say to him, if we tell him to go some where or put something away or sit down or what ever it is he just goes and does it, if he doesnt know what we are saying he will walk around the house over and over again trying to figure out what we said, then he will come to us in a shy way with his hands rubbing together and babble something to us!
He waves bye bye, learning to blow kisses, and he knows where his nose, ears, eyes are almost his mouth but forgets sometimes or doesnt understand what im saying. He gives high fives, I tell him to go get his shoes and he will go find a pair of his shoes and bring to me or try to put them on him self.
He try's doing everything that kaylin does, he loves kaylin and gets so excited when he sees him, kaylin goes into his room every morning and kiptin just jumps up and down! He LOVES to ride with his daddy or mommy on the motorcycle or four wheeler, and will go for hours and hours, he even fell asleep riding and still holding on tight!
He loves air planes and points to the sky every time he hears or sees one, he loves cars and trucks too. A funny thing he does is when i ask him for a kiss he walks over to me and puts his face down so i have to kiss the top of his head!
Here are some of the nick names we have for him:
kippers
kipper snack
kipin (thats what kaylin calls him)
kippy

We just love him so much he is a fun little kid and is growing up way to fast. I miss the little baby stage but LOVE his little boy stage at the same time!
We love you forever little kippers!

Kaylins Preschool Graduation...

Kaylin Graduated PreSchool in may 2011, I cant believe this will be my last summer with him before he starts "big kid" school. He has learned so much this year and I have loved watching him grow and learn so many new things. He is always so proud of himself when he learns to do something new! He was so excited for to show us all the time that he could write his name all by himself. I know he will love kindergarten and learn even more, now me on the other hand, I cant stand to see my baby grow up, i want him to stay little FOREVER, He will always be my little boy no matter how big he is. We love you so very very much kaylin boy, you are and always will be "my sweet boy". Go out into the world and set your dreams big and go after each one cause there isn't anything in this world that you cant do! We know there is something BIG in store for you!

We Love you FOREVER!

Sea World Trip 2010...

Better late then never! I have been trying to find these pictures from last August when we took our first family trip just the 4 of us. We went back to California for our 7yr anniversary and nicks 26th birthday, we always wanted to go back to sea world where nick asked me to marry him but every year something always came up so finally kaylin was old enough to have fun there and kiptin was 7 months old so we decided "why not" and took off for a few days!!! Kaylin LOVED all the animals and shows we saw, both boys LOVED LOVED the beach and playing in the sand and water even though the water was so cold! Here are some pictures from our trip!

good advice!

Be very careful if you make a woman cry, because God counts her tears. The woman came out of a man's rib, not from his feet to be walked on, not from his head to be superior, but from his side to be equal! Under the arm to be protected, & next to the heart to be loved.
