One whole week with just My lover!
I was so excited that we were really actually going this time...scared to leave the boys for so long but so excited to have some time with just the two of us.
Grandpa and Grandma haslem were so generous to offer to watch the boys for 7 whole days and night...no easy task for sure! They took on school, home work, soccer games and practices, scouts, meals and laundry and cleaning and much more...they were pros! We didnt have phone or internet on the ship so once we left miami that was it...we could get a hold of them or vice versa if there was an emergency but it cost way way too much to call or text so we just let them do their thing. j
When we got to the ports we could find WiFi and grandpa would right us emails about what they have been up to and let us know everyone was still alive!
We went on the Carnival Breeze, their newest ship for 6 nights 7 days..we sailed to Ocho rios Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, and Cozumel Mexico.
We didnt do any land excursions this time cause we really just wanted to see what it was like doing a cruise and we just wanted to hit the beaches pretty bad.
In Grand Cayman we took our boogie board and nick got his skim board and we just soaked up the sun and sand and LOVED every minute of it!!
next time we will for sure do some excursions!
It was strange to only get my self ready, only get food for my self and eat it while it was hot! it was strange to sit in peace all day...the first few days were so nice and quiet but after that the days seem to feel empty-ish and we missed our boys and hearing them laugh and play...reading stories to them and throwing them in bed each night...snuggling with khailo and not having him glued to me was very strange, my lap felt empty!
I was the most worried about coming back home to Khailo because he is only 18 months and I have never ever been away from him more then a few hours since he was born...and i proved to be right. we got home about 4 am and so we couldnt see them til morning...the older boys ran in and hugged us and then khai woke up, I ran in his room and was like "hi sweet boy, i missed you" and he just sat there and starred at me...no smile, and almost a cry...he totally forgot me I swear. I was so sad and carried him in to see daddy, he did the same with him too...it took us laughing with him to bring him around....and in about 3 hours he was back to his old self and glued to my lap, and still is to this day!
We had so much time to just hang out nick and I...we ate the BEST food each night, 3 course meal every night in a "fancy" restaurant with the BEST deserts...chocolate melting cake with ice cream is what I had everynight cause it was just too good to pass up. Nick tried new foods since he had the chance, Lobster tail and Alligator. I had the best steaks i have ever eaten and their mashed potatoes where to die for, we both eat a side of those every night too!
The first night at dinner, it was a casual night, we sat by a fun couple who just got married and then on the other side where two older ladies...after our meal it was time for desert and we didnt know what to choose...they had cream brulee and we had never had that but didnt want to order it if it wasnt going to be good. The just married couple had ordered that and they were done before us and had left...nick looks at me and says "she didnt even eat that whole half of it, maybe i should try some" i laughed thinking "yea right" your totally not going to eat off someone elses plate??? um yes, yes he did..one bite from a side she hadnt touched and the two ladies sitting on the other side of us just stared at him...and then laughed. one of them said "i have never ever seen that actually happen before" we both stared laughing and she asked where we were from, we said Utah and from then on she called nick the "utah boy" we ran into her a few times on the boat and thats what she called him! Needless to say he loved it and ordered it...and it was YUMMY...we were hoping they would have it again but they never did.
There was so much to do on the boat and we never got to do it all cause there was just too much and not enough time :) we watched shows, went to art shows, hot tubed, watched a little big of their "dive in movie" they had each night, played golf, worked out....mostly just hung out together walking around and exploring!
It was so much fun on our formal nights...we got to get all fancy and dressed up together...hills and cute little dresses...that was one of my high lights for sure!!
we had balcony room on the highest deck on the back of the boat which is the best spot to get for not feeling the movement of the boat...it was so pretty to sit outside and listen to the boat go across the water and it was really pretty to just look out there....at night it was super dark and would be so scary to be lost at sea at night!
I was so surprised that you really couldnt feel it moving very much at all, we went through a few storms and you could feel it sway back and forth a few times but not much at all.
When we were done, we got off the ship and headed for the airport and once off the boat thats when i got a little sick...everything was moving and it felt like i was on a small boat in the water and it was swaying back and forth...it took me 3 or 4 days to get my "land legs" back and not feel like i was moving, which was weird I have never heard anyone say that that has happened before, but it did to me.
I cant wait to cruise again..it was so awesome to get to do so much together for a whole week with no other distractions but next time I would love to take the boys!!
Here are some fun pictures from our trip!
